Navionics hires Scandinavian area manager

Navionics, an Italian manufacturer of electronic navigational charts, has appointed Jens Kristiansen as the company's new area manager for Scandinavia. Kristiansen, who has 10 years' technical and sales experience in the marine market, will be responsible for providing local support to Navionics' network of distributors and dealers in Norway, Sweden and Denmark.

Founded in 1984, Navionics is headquartered in Viareggio, Italy, with sales and manufacturing facilities in seven countries. Its cartographic database comprises more than 25,000 charts and port plans, making it the largest privately owned database of its kind, says the company.
